Isn't she adorable!? She's cute even when she's not feeling well. What a trooper!
Well, there's good news and bad news out of today's doctor's appointment. First the bad news. The formula didn't help Alexis' excema. :o( But the good news is that means we get to go back to breast feeding again! I'm going to take more out of my diet (nuts & eggs) and see if that helps at all. We also have a hydrocortisone cream to put on twice a day. It helped last time so it should work again.
The doctor said she bounced back from her dehydration rather well so there are no worries there. By the time we got home, she was really hungry, ate really well and kept it down. So far she hasn't thrown up at all today!!!... I was the only one to do that.
I'm still having shoulder pain and my incisions are still really painful. I think I'll just really have to focus on getting sleep tomorrow.
And we heard back from the Vet about Honda. It turns out she had a severe allergic reaction... likely to her food. The vet said that's what caused the inflamation and that we should just transition her back to her old food, see if it happens again and if it does, we'll need to try some different food.
We've been feeding her the same food for the past 6 months or so after testing out several foods to cut down on her gasiness. But when I opened this bag, I noticed the food pellets were smaller than usual. I'm wondering if there's something in this bag that is different than in the past. Also, the doc. said the allergy could be what caused her to have such bad gas when she was a puppy. Our vet told us it was just because she's a hound dog and does a lot of sniffing... all that air has to go somewhere!
I finally feel like we're getting somewhere with all of us! We're on the road to a full family recovery!
