Mommy's First Quilt

It took me a while to figure out but after several hours of reading and research, I figured out how to cut, sew and quilt a blanket for Baby Madison. Okay, so I was up into the wee hours of the morning the night before doing the edging, but it was worth the extra needlework.

I went with a polkadot & stripe combo and then found the Pooh Bear blue and yellow with bees to keep it gender neutral. Chris and Jamie didn't know what they were having so I had to work around that. It took a really long time for me to find the right shade of green... I think this one works.

And for a little punch, I decided to do a bright orange backing. I was going to do brown but felt like it got kind of dreary.

I was also hoping the color contrasts and patterns would also stimulate baby's eye and senses.

Andrea,
Love the quilt! Good job! Great choice on the backing--I think brown would have gotten a little ho-hum as well. I'm glad you did the hand stitching on the binding as well. You will get faster with time. It's one of my favorite parts of quilting now. You even quilted it! I'm impressed. Now you will have to do one for yourself.
