Meet Baby #2

Got to do our 20 week ultrasound at 18 weeks 6 days. Baby is about 9 ounces right now. We opted to not find out the sex but baby's heart rate is a little slower than Alexis' was. They aren't the best scans since the baby is a little earlier than when we had Alexis' done. My doctor also had the specialist take a look at things because I have gestational diabetes again and because of heart defects that run in my family. The heart looks good but the doctor scheduled another ultrasound in 10 weeks to do a size scan. Since I've had GD twice now, the baby could be bigger the second time around (we'll see about that!). He also wants me to do a more extensive round of testing 3 months after deliver to check me for non-gestational diabetes. Oh, I've been feeling just fine, no different than the first time around. Piece of cake.

Operation Diaper Cream

So, I had promised to post new pictures this weekend but didn't exactly get around to it. We got a lot done around the house despite a bit of a hiccup. Okay, large hiccup. During efforts to get as much done as possible, an entire tube of diaper cream made it into a load of Alexis' laundry. Basically it looked like she had gotten into a paint fight and came out with white splotches all over... however, we didn't notice it until everything had gone through the dryer. I soaked everything in a bathtub full of Dawn dish soap for half the day to cut the grease and then scrubbed every white spot with a Shout Gel scrubber. It was tedious so I didn't bother with some things... wash cloths, bibs, white onesies. And then split it up into two groups. Did about half of it on Saturday night & half on Sunday. I'm pretty happy with the results and the effort put into it... There was a moment I was thought it would all end up in the trash but knew I had to try something. T...

The McKennan Family Picnic

Bill’s mom works on the Women’s floor at McKennan Hospital and helped organize a picnic for the staff and their families. So she invited us too. The kids had a BLAST on the bouncy house and slide. I don’t know how long ago it was, but I feel like it wasn’t long ago that Alexis screamed at the thought of being put in one of these. Well, that’s all changed! WEEEE! Noah went to town jumping inside the bounce part. Had a hard time getting him out, naturally. Slides, slides and more slides. The jungle gym that wasn’t blown up was a hit too. The bouncy house also had a basketball hoop on the side, which, in all reality, was a bit on the tall side for a children’s attraction. Okay, seriously, it was tall for an adult! So Noah got a boost from dad. SWISH!
