Visiting Lake Yankton

Splish splash, my kids turned into fish this weekend!

We took a drive down to Yankton to visit Grandma and Grandpa while they stayed at the campground at Lake Yankton.  It’s right off the Missouri River, but I’m guessing the water is warmer.  What ever the case, the kids took to it and loved it!

They LOVED their floaties, which weren’t such a hit at Lake Clitheral last year.  Well, the water wasn’t a hit at all to be honest.

Grandma and Grandpa got them to swish in the water, they used their kickboards to float in the water…

floated with their feet out of the water (no, their hands aren’t touching!!!), and then…

No one was off limits… not even Dad!  First Alexis got him…

Then Noah thought that was a good idea too.  LOL  I laughed HARD!

Then for some reason, Noah thought it was funny to cover Grandpa in sand and they got their own sand fight going.  Yuck.

When it was time to get out of the water and head up to the campsite for dinner, I pulled out the camera again to get some shots of the kids checking out the rest of the area…

Noah chilled with Grandpa for a little bit and while he was grilling the brats, I took Noah for a walk to keep him away from the grill.

That’s when I got this one.

Because I can predict the future and all, I see this shot being printed in mass quantities.  Just kidding – remember? I’m writing these in January!  I actually submitted the image for our SDN photo contest.  It didn’t win but our new graphic artist did decide to use it for the cover of our 2014 calendar.  There were only 1,500+ printed!!!  We sent out 1,400 to our customers for Christmas and I handed them out to family.
