My little man also starts school this year… his first of two years of Preschool! Because his birthday falls after the beginning of the school year, he won’t start Kindergarten until 2015 and he’ll turn 6 just weeks later.
He got to use his backpack from last year, which still hangs nearly to his knees. But I’m sure he’ll grow into it at some point.
The only challenge so far has been that, while we talked a lot about Alexis going to Kindergarten this year, Noah didn’t realize she wouldn’t be with him any more. The past couple weeks have been a bit of a difficult transition as he’s gotten used to being without her.
Last year, the day care providers were able to use his interest in being with his sister as a reward for good behavior. Now we’ll have to find something else and Noah will have to find his own identity and make his own friends. He’s a very energetic little guy. I know he can do it!
